5 Gang Members Arrested in Violent Crime Bust

Several gang members were arrested by Fresno Police officers conducting an operation to decrease violent crime in Southeast Fresno Sunday.

Officers arrested five Bulldog gang members for various felony charges during a probation search at a home on East McKenzie Avenue.

Police say of the five arrested two were for notable crimes.

Miguel Padilla, 41, was arrested in connection to four Fresno theft cases and one Hanford theft case. Police found with three other peoples drivers license and credit cards in his possession. Officers say they also found a stolen IRS refund check on Padilla along with an IRS refund check he counterfeited. Padilla was out on bail for fraud when arrested. He is now facing 11 new felony and seven misdemeanor charges.

Jacob Ayala, 42, was arrested in the operation for possession of ammunition while being a convicted felon, having a methamphetamine smoking pipe with narcotics inside, and hypodermic syringes.

Both suspects were booked into the Fresno County jail.
