Animal cruelty arrest in Fresno

Fresno police have arrested a gang member on animal cruelty charges after a disturbing video was posted online.

Officers say 38-year-old William Weir shot video of his pitbull dogs attacking and killing a smaller dog that had entered his yard. He then posted the video to his Facebook page.

In the video, shot in Southwest Fresno, Weir can be heard encouraging his dogs to kill the smaller dog. The pitbulls were located at a relative’s home today and seized by the SPCA.

Weir was booked at the Fresno County Jail for felony animal cruelty.
