Delta Tunnel Project sees opposition

The Delta Tunnel Project calls for building underground tunnels to transport water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to farms in the Central Valley. Some environmental groups are asking the governor to abandon the project and find another sustainable water solution.

Steve Hopcroft, a Restore the Delta spokesman, said, “The governor thinks that this should not to have to come before the people for a vote. Well this is seven billion dollars of our money, plus all the subsidies to corporate big agriculture.”

Governor Brown has requested four billion dollars from Washington to help build the Delta Tunnels Project.
