Hog Fire "saddle Fire" (Wildfire)

Current Fire Situation: A new fire called the HOG FIRE is actually an unburned island in the SADDLE FIRE. During the afternoon hours of Saturday, June 27, 2015, a fire was reported by two fire lookouts and was originally dispatched as a new incident. Crews and aircraft are currently suppressing the 3 acre fire. The Saddle Fire has patches of unburned fuel remaining within containment lines that will continue to produce smoke and occasionally fire may be visible. Resources will continue to patrol and mop- up the fire, concentrating on areas that could threaten control lines. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest increased fire fighter staffing due to the increased chance of dry lightning and strong winds from thunderstorm activity throughout Northern California this weekend. Additional fire engines, handcrews and helicopters have been staged throughout the forest in preparation for fires during this forecasted weather.
