Magic Mountain Upgrades a Classic Coaster

Twisted Colossus opens this Saturday.  It’s Six Flags Magic Mountain’s newest roller coaster– an update of an old favorite.

The wood and steel hybrid is nearly 5,000 feet long.

There are two tracks, and when timed just right a previously dispatched train will climb the lift hill on the track next to you, allowing for a racing duel.

At one point, the side-by-side trains tilt towards each other and it seems like you can touch the riders in the other train.

Parts of the original Colossus coaster were burned in a fire last September.
