Tom Kroll Blood Drive Honors Fresno Fire Cpt. Dern

Four years ago, Tom Kroll died while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. In memorium of Tom Kroll and to help others his wife, Yvonne, started a blood and marrow drive.

This year’s drive is dedicated to Fresno Fire Cpt. Pete Dern, who was burned over 65% of his body while battling a house fire  in March.  Doctors say Dern will need many surgeries requiring blood and blood products to help during his long road to recovery.

Family and friends of the late Tom Kroll are inviting the community to come to any of the Central California Blood Center donor locations in Fresno, Visalia and Porterville and donate blood Thursday, June 25, through Thursday, July 2.
