<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Two Fresno Police officers have been seriously injured after getting into a car accident at the intersection of Blackstone and Herndon in North Fresno on Thursday night. Investigators said the officers allegedly crashed into a Toyota car, while on the way to a call of a man pointing a green laser at a police helicopter.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Police later arrested 28-year old Johnny Quenga in connection to the laser light incident. Police said around 11pm Thursday, Quenga pointed a green laser light into the cockpit of a police helicopter. The pilots reported the light was coming from the area of Pablo and Fir.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Lt. Joe Gomez said on Friday that the officer who was on the passenger side is in critical condition. Though his injuries are non life threatening, he may have to undergo surgery. He apparently has a broken leg and a fracture in his back. Gomez said the officer who was driving was knocked unconscious, suffered injuries to his upper body and legs, and had some teeth chipped. However, that officer has been released from Community Regional Medical Center.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Leona Stone is the owner of LRStone’s Firearms Sales in Northwest Fresno. She said lasers can be crucial for gun owners.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Stone said about the lasers, &quot; They’re for target shooting for hunting. The green laser is supposedly better for the eye to pick up than the red laser.&quot;<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Stone said she recommends all of her customers to buy a laser.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">&quot;You can attach them to a firearm, to an AR. You can have the have green lasers for handguns,&quot; said Stone.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">But Stone said, just like the firearm itself, lasers must not be abused.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">She said, &quot;I certainly wouldn’t understand why anybody would be pointing a green or a red at aircraft.&quot;<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Gomez said though the cause of the car accident is still under investigation, there may be some blame placed on Quenga.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Stone called Thursday night’s events unfortunate and a misuse of firearms and accessories.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">&quot;You should know not to do something like that. You don’t point a gun, I mean, if it was attached to a firearm you don’t point that at an aircraft or anyone. You point that at a target that you plan on shooting,&quot; said Stone.<br /></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Quenga faces charges of willful discharge of a laser at an occupied aircraft. He has been released on bond, according the Fresno County Jail’s website.</div></div>
