3 Dead in Murder-Suicide in Selma

<p>Two women and a man&nbsp;are dead&nbsp;in a murder-suicide in Selma.</p><p>It happened&nbsp;Monday at about 2:15 p.m. in the neighborhood of Peach and Jasper&nbsp;Streets.</p><p>Police suspect that&nbsp;the gunman shot his cousin outside a home then went inside and shot&nbsp;his girlfriend at the home where she had been staying. </p><p>&quot;We don’t know what the&nbsp;motivation was. There was some conversation about money, but we haven’t gotten enough statements from enough of the witnesses to put that together,&quot; said Selma Police Chief Greg Garner.</p><p>The suspected shooter then attempted to take his own life, Garner said.</p><p>Police found him in critical condition and the two women dead at the scene. The suspect later died at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.</p><p>&quot;It just breaks my heart to see that,&quot; said Vincent Ramirez, who lives down the street.</p><p>About six people, including children, were inside the home at the time of the shooting, Garner said. </p><p>Multiple people called 911 to report shots fired.</p><p>&quot;In that moment,&nbsp;I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh my God, someone got shot.’ That doesn’t happen here. So&nbsp;I just ran over because I heard someone screaming like crazy,&quot; said Rebecca Carrillo, who lives down the street and heard the shooting.</p><p>Others who live on the same street called their neighborhood peaceful and said this shooting is out of the ordinary.</p><p>&quot;My daughter called me at the gym. She said there was a shooting here.&nbsp;I said, ‘What, are you kidding me?’&quot; said Louis Ramirez, who also lives down the street.</p><p>&quot;Something like this to happen is just really shocking for all of us,&quot; Vincent Ramirez said.</p><p>Police recovered a handgun from the scene. </p><p>No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.</p></div>
