Animal cruelty suspect fights Deputies in Earlimart

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department was responding to an animal cruelty report in Earlimart when the suspect became combative. <br /><br />A person reported Angel Navarro, 27, had tied up his dog and was beating it with a wooden stick.<br /><br />When Deputies arrived on the scene, the dog was found dead in the backyard. It had been beaten and impaled by metal pipes.&nbsp;<br /><br />Navarro was found and he is believed to have been under the influence of a controlled substance. Deputies tried to take him into custody when he became combative. they used minimal force to subdue him.<br /></div>
