Asian Citrus Psyllid in California

Another dangerous pest is found in the South Valley. According to the Tulare County Ag Commissioner an “Asian citrus psyllid” has been found on a trap in Exeter.

The bug can carry the “citrus greening” disease which can kill a tree. There’s nothing that can be done to stop it. It’s a major threat to the 750-million dollar industry. The insect has already caused quarantines in Tulare County and portions of Fresno.
