Asian citrus psyllid quarantine in Madera County

A portion of Madera County is now being quarantined after finding Asian citrus psyllid.

Officials found it near the Madera lake area. The quarantine spans 100-square miles and means citrus and curry trees cannot be moved out of the area. All fruit must also be cleaned.

Citrus psyllid can carry a disease that infects trees, and causes them to produce mis-shapen fruit.
