On December 2nd, Sheriff / Interim Fire Chief Doug Binnewies had the honor of dedicating the newest fire station, Bridgeport Fire Station #28.
Following many years of planning, coordinating and construction, Bridgeport Fire Station #28 is now
in service. This is the first of many fire stations to encompass not only Fire but Sheriff employees and
equipment as well. This new facility will provide a modern and safe environment for Mariposa County
Fire and the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office employees and volunteers to train, share technology and resources and respond to the needs of the neighbors in an emergency.
Marcella Cannon the current Captain of the Mormon Bar Station will take on the Captain position at
the Bridgeport Station as well.
The Mariposa County Fire Department is currently seeking volunteers to fill the positions of
Firefighters, Medical Responders, Driver Operators, Support Staff and Community Educators.
