CBS47 Collection Drive feeds the hungry

<font size="2">Frying up eggs for the most important meal of the day, and some inspiration,&nbsp;&quot;as we go through this day let us think about our families Lord,&quot;&nbsp;said a prayer leader to volunteers at the Fresno Rescue Mission.<br />They are treating the homeless and others who can’t provide for themselves like family of their own, people like Nathan Reppert.&quot;Just fallen on hard times through my addiction.&nbsp;<br />I needed to get things back in order to get headed in the right direction,&quot; said Reppert<br />He’s in an 18-month program, helping men who have been in and out of prison and living in the streets, to get back on their feet.<br />&quot;They come for change in their life,&quot;&nbsp;as organizer Dewayne Martin explains, they get more than just a full stomach.<br />&quot;All kinds of anger management classes. We have classes helping them get their G.E.D., get their educational needs taken care of so that when they do leave here they’ll be able to do more than what they’ve done prior to coming here,&quot; said Martin.<br />A key ingredient in the recipe for success&nbsp;is&nbsp;donations.<br />75 percent of the funds come from the community, providing what they need, to make a change.<br />&quot;It gives me a solid basis from which to grow out of. The organization and the structure allows me to get my life back in focus,&quot; said Reppert.<br /><br />MAKING A DIFFERENCE<br /><br />CBS 47 is partnering with Fresno Rescue Mission to help those less in need during the holiday season.&nbsp; <br />For more than 60 years, the Fresno Rescue Mission has been serving our community.&nbsp; <br />The non-profit feeds more than 1,000 people a day, 365 days a year, and they rely heavily on food donations from the community.&nbsp;<br /> In an effort to help the Fresno Rescue Mission feed the community on Christmas, CBS47 is holding a food drive Wednesday, December 17th,&nbsp;at the station’s parking lot,&nbsp;on the corner of McKinley and Gateway in Fresno<br />The food drive is from&nbsp;5:00 AM -&nbsp;7:00 PM. </font></div>
