The Chimney fire is burning on BLM managed public lands in and adjacent to the Owens Peak and Chimney Peak wilderness areas. It is currently at 1,000 acres. The Pacific Crest Trail is closed between Hwy 178 and Kennedy Meadows. Canebreak Rd is closed. Nine Mile Rd is closed except to emergency vehicles. Approximately 300 firefighters are on scene.
