Chukchansi job fairs being held

In Madera County officials are trying to help hundreds of workers who lost their jobs when the Chukchansi Casino closed. A job fair was held today at the county’s Department of Social Services.

County officials say since the casino closed about 400 workers have asked for help. County officials are calling this a “rapid response orientation” where they will offer information about jobs and other resources available to Chukchansi workers.

The county will hold another orientation this Thursday. There will be a Spanish orientation in the morning, followed by English.
