A major injury accident involving a big rig has caused the closure of southbound lanes of Highway 99 just south of Buhach in Merced County.
That’s between the cities of Merced and Atwater.
Highway Patrol officials report the southbound lanes of Highway 99 are completely closed in that area and the northbound fast lane of Highway 99 is also closed due to damage to the concrete center median.
Motorists in the area are advised to take an alternate route.
