Current weather conditions are trapping valley pollution

If your asthma is aggravated, or you’re experiencing some breathing problems, the valley air may be a factor.

We’ve had some hazy skies for the past few days. With our current weather conditions, it’s like we have a "temperature lid" on the valley.

That means the air can’t go up and the air pollution in the valley remains trapped at a lower level. We spoke with doctor A.M. Amininan about the situation.

"That in addition to cold air plus all the viruses and colds that has been happening – many people have problems now. So people are getting sick and anybody with asthma, respiratory problems, they’re having more problems," Dr. A.M. Aminian, from the Allergy Institute said. "People are getting sick and anybody with asthma, respiratory problems, they’re having more problems."

Dr. Aminian says those with asthma need to avoid exposure to colds and viruses. It’s always a good policy to wash your hands and make sure to take all your prescribed medications. Some relief from the air pollution may be on the way.
