Delta Pump plan on hold

The plan to divert water from the delta, to Central Valley farms is now on hold. <br /><br />The $25 billion Delta Pump plan is undergoing a major design change. It would avoid the use of electric pumps in the water diversion tunnels. The 40 feet wide tunnels would take water from the Sacramento River, 30 miles away to canals near Tracy.<br /><br />Instead of using pumps, designers now want to use gravity. People who live near the project weren’t happy with the designs.<br /></div>
