Comments:The Eiler fire started in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness. It exploded in size today to 5500 acres, burning rapidly to the north and east. Residents and visitors are being evacuated from the Wilderness, and from the Hat Creek Valley along Highway 89 from Doyles Corner/Cassel Road south to Rocky Campground. Highway 89 is closed in this area. The trails in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness are also closed.
Announcements:CALFIRE Team #5 entered into Unified Command with the Lassen National Forest on 8/3/2014 at 1800 hours. The Ordering Point for the Eiler Incident is through the CALFIRE Shasta Trinity Unit (SHU) utilizing incident number CA-SHU-006933.
