Flooding closes highway 99 near Pixley

Update: The highway has been reopened.&nbsp;<br /><br />Highway 99 at Pixley is closed at this hour with officials hoping to have it re-open by noon. <br /><br />Up to 3 ft. of water pooled on Highway 99 early this morning. It brought traffic to a standstill after a big rig overturned and several cars stalled out while trying to travel through the flooding. Officials say heavy, consistent rain and a mechanical problem led to the traffic tie-up. <br /><br />The highway patrol had to divert traffic on Highway 99 through Pixley until the pump could be fixed.<br /></div>
