Four were arrested for celebratory gunfire

Four men are facing charges tonight for shooting weapons on New Years Eve. <br /><br />Two men were arrested for shooting out power lines in southeast Fresno. Two other men were arrested for allegedly using a 22 caliber rifle to shoot out power lines from the backyard of a home. Both of these suspects are believed to be gang members. <br /><br />Police Chief Jerry Dyer once again stressed the dangers of bullets that are fired into the air. <br /><br />&quot;What goes up must come down and it goes down at the same velocity or greater than when it’s fired from that gun,&quot; Dyer said. <br /><br />The Fresno Police Department plans to have a system in place within months that will detect the exact location where shots take place in real time so that officers can be quickly dispatched.<br /><br /></div>
