Frog Fire (Wildfire)

Yesterday the fire continued to make rapid runs burning across some portions of containment lines. Heavy smoke over the fire area limited the use of aircraft for much of day. Moderate fire behavior in the evening continued into the overnight hours with active fire spread and long range spotting influenced by wind and passing thunderstorms. However crews were able to hold onto established control lines along a good portion of the eastern flanks of the fire. Currently the Frog Fire is estimated to be at 3,900 acres. Containment at this time is 4%.Todays objectives for the crews are to scout for opportunities for direct and indirect fireline construction and to hold onto and improve any existing fireline.Red Flag Warnings have been issued for today with dry thunderstorms possible. Storms are predicted to become wetter this evening.
