High Speed Chase Ends with Suspect in Custody

Twenty one year old Timothy Pinedo of Fresno is now in custody and facing multiple counts of felony evading and assault on a police officer.&nbsp; Fresno police says at around 11 o’clock at night on Sunday, officer driving through the area of Dakota and Hughes Avenues heard gun shots coming from the area of Saginaw and Marks in West Fresno.&nbsp; When officers arrived to the intersection, they heard more shots and saw a black Honda with no lights speeding away.&nbsp; Police turned on their lights and tried to pull the car over, and that is when the chase began.&nbsp; At one point the suspect intentional turned towards the officer’s patrol car hitting it and continuing to drive away.&nbsp; Parts of the pursuit made it through residential street at dangerously high speeds.&nbsp; The chase came to an end when officers bumped the back of the suspects car spinning it out of control.&nbsp;Pinedo was taken into custody, and his car was searched.&nbsp; In the search, a loaded hand gun was found on the floorboard.&nbsp; Fresno Police’s Violent Crime Impact team returned to the area where the shots were originally fired and one witness said Pineda may have been shooting at another car that had a male Hispanic in it.&nbsp; Investigators are working to identify who that person is.&nbsp; If you have information on this case please call Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP.</div>
