The West Nile Virus could infect a more widespread population in California this year due to the drought.
Disease experts say the West Nile Virus is spread to humans only by mosquitoes. Last year, there were 801 confirmed cases of West Nile virus in the state, 31 of those cases were fatal.
The Center for Disease Control recently released a report which links drought conditions to higher-than-usual numbers of West Nile Virus cases.
