Lawmakers introduce to bill to stop "hidden gas tax"

<div class="StoryBlock">
Lawmakers are trying to keep gas prices from soaring. On monday, Assemblyman Jim Patterson introduced a bill to stop what many call the, &quot;hidden gas tax.&quot; It’s a potential consequence of the state’s Cap-and-Trade Program and it’s set to kick in next month. The program was created to improve the environment and it’ll force oil refineries to pay for the right to release excess pollution. Many fear, the cost will get passed on to the consumer and cause gas prices go up anywhere from 15 to 70 cents a gallon.</div>
