Local Church Celebrates Christmas Eve

<p>Dozens gathered at the First Armenian Presbyterian Church in South Central Fresno Wednesday night to commemorate the 117th Advent Season by joining in a candlelight service.</p><p>It included the singing of Christmas carols, a special message about the birth of Jesus Christ, and ended with a candle lighting. </p><p>Organizers said they hold this service every year. They said it’s an important time for all who join in.</p><p>&quot;it is an opportunity to reflect, and refresh, and honor our Christ. Also to pray together for those who are struggling in the world.&quot; Director of Music Ministries Jane Bedrosian said. </p><p>Advent is the season beginning four Sundays before Christmas, and is preparation for the coming of Christ into the world.</p><p>Bedrosian said the church is not offering any services on Thursday. They believe Christmas is a day that should be spent with family.<br /></p></div>
