One Dead in Planada Double Shooting

One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a double shooting in Planada. It happened just after&nbsp;1 a.m. Friday at a home in the 2000&nbsp;block of Fancher Street.<br /><br />The condition&nbsp;of the other man injured is unknown, but according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, he’s being treated at a Modesto-area hospital.<br /><br />Both of the victims are males in their 20s, said Sgt. Delray Shelton.<br /><br />When deputies arrived, the two victims had gunshot wounds and were airlifted to Modesto-area hospitals, where one of the men later died.<br /><br />The investigation is in its early stages, and the motive is unknown.&nbsp;<br /><br />People called 911 reporting hearing shots fired. Some neighbors&nbsp;said shootings are common in their area.<br /><br />&quot;When I was laying down in bed,&nbsp;I heard two gunshots, and there was probably a minute in between each gunshot,&quot; said Rogelio Aguilar, who lives in the area of the shooting.<br /><br />This the 33rd homicide in the Merced County, according to Shelton.<br /></div>
