Pedestrain struck and killed by train

The Fresno County Coroner’s office is working to identify a woman who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train. <br /><br />It happened along the Santa Fe tracks near Herndon yesterday just before noon. Police say the woman was a transient and was walking on the tracks with her back to the southbound train. <br /><br />&quot;They blew their horn. They were traveling about 70 miles an hour at the time. The female never responded and by the time the train was able to apply the brakes and come to a stop, she was struck,&quot;&nbsp;Sgt. Clayton Smith said.<br /><br />The victim’s name has not been released.&nbsp;</div>
