Stranded skiers at China Peak

High winds yesterday are to blame for leaving dozens of people stranded on a ski lift at China Peak.

The winds caused a cable to come off a roller and passengers were stranded for about two hours. Crews brought the skiers down one at a time on a rope.

It made the New Year’s Eve ski celebrations come to a quick end. People who got stuck on the lift got a free day of skiing and they got $50 gift cards. No injuries were reported.
