A major break in a series of agricultural thefts in Fresno County. A suspect is in jail after a short chase.

Deputies say 27-year-old Kishsan Sangha has a long history of stealing from farms and ag businesses in the valley.

They believe he stole nearly 50-thousand dollars worth of farm equipment in the last six days.

Members of the Fresno Sheriff’s Ag Task Force tried to pull over Sangha near Shaw and Fowler late Wednesday afternoon. He sped off until his truck broke down at Fowler and San Gabriel in Clovis where he was arrested.

Deputies say that Sangha tried to sell a stolen forklift on Craigslist. He steals metal, vehicles, trailers, tractors and that’s all basically to support his drug habit," said Sgt. Ryan Hushaw with the Fresno Sheriff’s Ag Task Force.

Deputies tried to pull him over but say he sped off, driving dangerously on city streets and hitting another driver at an intersection.

"I didn’t see him coming at all but the driver who was across from me, he was coming the other direction at the stop sig, put his hands up and I saw, I knew something was up," driver Brian Borboa said.

The driver’s side mirror on Brian Borboa’s pickup was damaged but luckily he wasn’t hurt.

The truck Sangha was driving broke down. That’s when he was arrested.

While sangha was booked into jail, deputies went in search of the stolen forklift and found it and a stolen trailer in a vineyard just south of Fresno.

Investigators believe that Sangha has stolen close to fifty-thousand dollars worth of farm equipment in the past week and was selling it on Craigslist for a fraction of what it’s worth.

"If for example someone’s trying to sell a 20-thousand dollar forklift for two- or three-thousand-dollars and it looks like it’s in great shape, that’s probably a red flag that you need to pay attention to," Sgt. Hushaw said.

A man who reportedly bought two stolen tractors from Sangha is now out thousands of dollars.
