Tense standoff on Fresno East Central Fresno

A tense stand off with Fresno Police ends with a man in custody.<br /> <br />It all happened just before 11 a.m. inside an apartment at Ashlan and Willow Avenues,&nbsp;in East Central Fresno.<br /><br /> Police now have a 44-year-old man in custody after he broke into his girlfriend’s apartment, then poured lighter fluid over his head and started to light the apartment on fire.<br /><br />&quot;He was fighting, he was resisting, yeah, he was resisting arrest and he continued to light the apartment on fire as we were trying to get him out. And so finally he opened the door and officers took that opportunity to grab him and pull him to the ground, &quot;&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 13.3333330154419px;">Lt. Joe Gomez, Fresno Police Department said.<br /><br /></span>The suspect is suffering from cuts to his hands from breaking the windows. He was taken to CRMC for treatment. <br /><br />All of the units in the apartment complex were evacuated and streets were blocked off during the incident.<br /></div>
