Two people killed in Fiery hit and run crash

Two people killed in fiery hit and run crash at Jensen and Chestnut. When officers and Fire crews arrived, they found a car fully engulfed in flames. One of the passengers, who managed to escape, told emergency crews that two people were still inside the burning car . Fire crews were unable to rescue the remaining passengers in the vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect’s vehicle was traveling northbound on Chestnut at a high rate of speed, and rear-ended the victim’s vehicle while it was waiting for the light to change; causing it to burst into flames. There were 5 people in the victim’s car. Three were able to escape, with moderate injuries, while the other two died on scene. The suspect involved in the accident fled the scene, however, officers were able to locate an address for the suspect who lived nearby. Officer’s, along with a K9 unit, went to his apartment and they located him hiding under a bed. The suspect was arrested and taken to CRMC where he was treated for his injuries. The suspect made a spontaneous statement about being involved in an accident
