Valley Events Honoring MLK

<font size="2"><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On Monday, the nation is honoring the legacy of slain Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and several events are also planned in the Central Valley.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The MLK March will be held today at Fresno City Hall beginning at 10am. It will end at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In Merced, a march will begin at 11am at the Amtrak station and a multi-cultural event will take place at the fairgrounds at noon.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Tulare, a march will begin at 11am at the Claude Meitzenheimer Community Center.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Visalia, a march will begin at 10:30am from the Boys and Girls Club on West Tulare Avenue and end at Garden Street Plaza downtown. Once there, a presentation will be given by retired Rev. Harry Wood, a dance performance by Pulse Dance Crew and quotes from some of MLK’s speeches will be recited by children.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Also today, admission is free to National parks across the country. Sequoia National Park is holding a celebration from 10am until 2pm. </p><br /></font></div>
