Vigil For 9-Year-Old Shot & Killed

The death of nine year old Janessa Ramirez has outraged an entire community. Now many are calling for those responsible to come forward. <br /><br />Friends and family lit candles and prayed for the little girl at a vigil Wednesday night outside of the laundromat were she was shot. The victim of a senseless gang shooting that took her life too soon. <br /><br />&quot;My knees were shaking to think that this was the last place she was running around, this was the last place she was laughing. This was the last place she had a big smile on her face,&quot; Frances Juarez, her grandmother said.<br /><br />Janessa’s father Jay Ramirez could not hold back his tears. He never expected to bury his daughter. <br /><br />&quot;The way she was taken from me was very difficult,&quot; Ramirez said. &quot;She was my princess and my baby girl and she was a beautiful little girl.&quot;<br /><br />Her family says Janessa loved to give hugs. She wanted to be in the medical field when she grew up and was a huge sports fan. Many came to the vigil wearing her favorite football team’s colors.<br /><br />&quot;She loved Kaepernick from the 49ers that’s one thing she did love. She definitely loved that gentleman she was always speaking of him. She loved football especially when football season was here. I’ll always treasure everything and every moment,&quot; Ramirez said. <br /><br />Janessa’s family wants to lay her to rest knowing justice will be served. Fresno police have been interviewing witnesses but no arrests have been made. <br /><br />&quot;This is a terrible thing that happened,&quot; Juarez said. &quot;For an innocent child. Anyone’s child. I hate for any parent, grandparent to go through this.&quot;<br /></div>
