Water deliveries will help local farmers meet needs

The recent storms have allowed the state water project to give some of its customers extra water.<br /><br />The state Department of Water Resources says it will increase water delivers to most of its customers by and additional 204,000 acre feet. The slight increase will help to meet the needs of water districts in the San Joaquin Valley. <br /><br />Nearly one million acres of irrigated farmland depend upon the state water project for at least some of their supplies. Most of that land sits in Kern and Kings county.<br /></div>
