Weekend Events in the Valley

Laughs, culture, and fashion: a look a handful of fun events happening in the Valley this weekend.
-The first, mostly female Asian-American comedy show is coming back to Fresno’s Tower Theatre. It’s being hosted by  Central California Asian Pacific Women. All proceeds will benefit local students by way of scholarships. Last year’s show was sold out. The show is Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are $37.50 at the door.
-Help ring in the Chinese New Year with a celebration at the Fresno Art Museum. There will be lion and dragon dancing team performances, book readings and children activities such as dragon puppet and lantern making. The event is Sunday, and free, from 1pm-3:30pm.
-Armenian Cultural Day is also  being held at the Fresno Art Museum. Suited for all ages, the event includes a backgammon tournament, dancing, costumes, arts & crafts, food demonstrations, and live music. There will also be an art exhibit commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The event is free Saturday from 11am-4pm at the Fresno Art Museum.
-Celebrate Mexican culture at the Folklorico "High School Show-Offs." Dancers from  eleven Valley high schools will present a dance performance that spans ten regions of Mexican folklorico dance traditions. It’s Saturday at the Historic Warnors Theater in downtown Fresno from 3pm-5pm. Tickets are $12 at the door.
-Tonight you can help tackle human trafficking at the second annual "Fight with Fashion" event. It includes cocktails, moving and powerful stories, and a fashion show. Hosted by NFL Pro Tyler Clutts and his wife, it benefits "Made for Them," an organization dedicated to fighting the exploitation of men, women and children. It’s being held at Porsche of Fresno. Tickets start at $65.
