Wet weather causes a messy commute

Rain fell overnight and through much of the morning in the Central Valley. <br /><br />The showers caused some drains to back up in Fresno early this morning and made for a slippery commute with numerous accidents on valley freeways. Even though some people had a few problems with the wet roads, it’s a welcome sight across our drought stricken area. <br /><br />And snow has been falling over Shaver Lake today. Mountain Snow is what matters most. The spring snow-melt provides a&nbsp;third of California’s water helping to fill the state’s nearly empty reservoirs. You may recall, China Peak closed its resort early because of a lack of snow. This recent snow storm was not enough to re-open the slopes. <br /><br />Park officials say they need another six inches before they can reopen.&nbsp;<br /></div>
