Keystone XL bill fails

U.S. Senate has voted down a plan to authorize the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The vote took place earlier today in the Senate, where it failed with a 59-to-41 vote.

Experts predict a new vote will happen when the Republicans take over the Senate in January. It is expected the bill will pass at that point, but the president may veto it anyway.
