Tuesday, November 8, Plumas National Forest (PNF) will conduct a prescribed burn near Paradise Lake, CA. The burn will be a controlled ignition of the Paradise Lake project landing piles. Depending on weather conditions, piles may be burned on other days as well. After merchantable materials are removed and brush and slash are gathered into piles, PNF fuels specialists begin burning when weather and fuels conditions are optimum. PNF firefighters will closely monitor weather conditions and fire behavior during all stages of the prescribed burn.During burn operations, smoke will be visible in the towns of Paradise and Magalia and near Paradise Lake. Smoke could also impact Coutelenc Road, Hupp Coutelenc and Upper Skyway.
