SUNRISE LIVE: Twisted Collossus at Magic Mountain Re-Opens

Last year, one of Magic Mountain’s oldest and most iconic roller coasters closed down.
Saturday, Colossus reopens as a hybrid coaster. Roller Coaster Expert Tim Baldwin, the editor of roller coaster magazine, rode the coaster live on Sunrise to give us a preview. You gotta see this live shot! Click on the video above.
Magic Mountain had this to say about the new coaster: TWISTED COLOSSUS, the next generation of the beloved wooden roller coaster, is a unique technological marvel combining an iconic wooden structure with state-of-the-art steel track.  This innovation provides ride experiences never before possible on wooden coasters, such as over-banked turns and inversions.  TWISTED COLOSSUS features two inversions, 18 airtime hills and 2 lifts hills – all on over 5,000 feet of track for a four minute exhilarating journey.

TWISTED COLOSSUS opens to the public on Saturday, May 23.
