Yosemite Climbing Community Mourns Two of Their Own

Yosemite National Park is without two familiar faces from its rock climbing community. One of them an extreme sports legend who inspired climbers to push their limits for decades.

Extreme sports pioneer 43-year-old Dean Potter was found dead by search helicopters Sunday along with 29-year-old Graham Hunt after the two attempted an aerial decent from Taft Point 7,500 feet up from Yosemite Valley.

It is illegal to BASE jump at Yosemite National Park, but the people who knew Potter and Hunt say they were both experts capable of safely completing the jump. They say losing these two men in this way is a huge blow not only to the valley, but extreme sports worldwide.
