Allegations of Animal Cruelty at Fosters Farms in Fresno

Undercover video allegedly taken in Fresno at a Foster Farms facility is getting national attention.
There are allegations of animal cruelty at the processing plant.
"Mercy for Animals" released what they say is hidden-camera video taken at the facility. They claim it shows workers punching and throwing chickens, ripping out their feathers for fun and birds being scalded alive in feather-removal tanks.
Foster Farms is the largest poultry producer on the west coast and has been certified "humane" by the American Humane Association since 2013.
Former TV Game Show Host Bob Barker and animal rights advocate is angry the American Humane Association has approved the facility.
"I’m so outraged that the American Humane Association is putting its seal of approval on meat from animals who were subjected to miserable lives and painful deaths," said Barker.
A statement  from Foster Farms reads: "Foster Farms has been made aware of an online video showing company employees in Fresno, California, mishandling birds in their care. We have already begun a comprehensive investigation to determine the source and location, including a fully cooperative effort with all appropriate authorities. The behavior of the individuals in this video is inappropriate and counter to our stringent animal welfare standards, procedures and policies."
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
