Amtrak train and Forklift Collide: Teen at the Wheel

An Amtrak train and a forklift collided this morning after officials say the teenage driver stalled the machine on the railroad tracks.

The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. just South of the Kings County city of Hanford on Lansing near Avenue 10 1/2.

The 13-year-old driver reportedly jumped off the stalled forklift before it was hit by the train.

He was not hurt in the accident.

No one on board the Amtrak train was hurt.

Officials say the boy had been driving the forklift on a private farm.
