Apartment fire near Washington and First

Two people are without a home after their apartment went up in flames this morning in Downtown Fresno. <br /><br />It started just after 6 this morning near Washington and First. Firefighters say it started on the first floor, and quickly spread to the second. Crews had to call in a second alarm to get the fire under control. They say it was hard to fight because the flames moved into the attic. <br /><br />&quot;There is a lot of damage to the attic. A lot of smoke and flames got up in there. So being that it is a converted triplex, and the construction, there’s been some additions to the structure. Which is making it difficult to get the fire out,&quot;&nbsp;Keola Park of Fire Station 8 said.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Two people living in the upstairs unit got out. Officials say the cause was electrical.<br /></div>
