Attorneys Seek Transperancy in Pipeline Testing

Another inmate hurt in a massive gas explosion in Northwest Fresno is preparing file a lawsuit for their injuries.

Efrain Garcia’s attorney says the blast left him in serious condition.

"Over half his body has some degree of burns. His arms are completely third degree burns and then his legs have second degree burns. He’s in serious condition right now," Attorney Warren Paboojian said.

Garcia was scheduled to be released from jail Saturday. He is still in the hospital.

Paboojian is teaming up with Butch Wagner. An attorney representing 5 other inmates Wagner says suffered injuries from the explosion. The attorneys are filing a restraining order against testing on the pipeline involved in the explosion.

"We are asking the court to allow us to video tape it, for the court to allow us to have an expert there, and are asking to court to not require us to sign a confidentiality agreement for anything but a short period of time," Wagner said.

A hearing on the restraining order is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
