On Friday evening a fire began burning near Avocado Lake that scorched 65 acres. One family did everything they could to defend their home before fire crews arrived. With the work of 300 firefighters and assistance from air tankers and helicopters crews got a grip on the fire Friday evening. Nobody was hurt and no structures destroyed. Fire crews say they’ll remain on scene for the next couple days to make sure the fire doesn’t start spreading again in the hot forecasted weather.
