Block party held for Brianna Ramirez in Parlier

A block party was held in Parlier in an effort to make the community stronger in the wake of a tragic gang shooting.

Back in February, 16-year-old Brianna Ramirez was shot in the eye by gang gun fire. Saturday, a block party was held on the very street she was shot. The event was held by the Parlier Clergy Council, City of Parlier and the Police Department. Their goal was to promote unity in Parlier during a time residents say violence is at its peak.

"The individuals who did this are out there. Justice can be done for this little girl. Somebody knows what’s going on. But people are afraid of the backlash," Bishop Junior Guzman said.

A $ 9,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the shooting.
