Car hits gas main outside Sierra Vista Mall

A street in Clovis is shut down during the morning commute after an accident.

It happened at about 8:15 when a car hit a gas main outside of the Aqua Nails Spa in the Sierra Vista Mall. Sunnyside south of Shaw was shut down while fire crews and PG&E repaired the damaged gas main.

Clovis Police say the driver may have suffered a medical issue which caused the crash.

"The gentleman in the car, 75-years-old, apparently had some kind of medical issue and he was taken to Clovis Community Hospital," Janet Stoll-Lee, with the Clovis Police Dept., said.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported and the building wasn’t damaged in the crash.
