<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">The clean-up continues this weekend after the storm that began on Thursday. It gave many parts of the valley the rain and water it needed, but it didn’t come without a price. Many roads were flooded, some traffic came to a halt, and a tree even toppled onto someone’s house in the South Valley. It’s been a stormy few days, and this may only be the beginning.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">Officer Gabriel Perez with the Fresno Division of the California Highway Patrol said, "What we did see the last couple of nights was more than normal amounts of traffic collisions, especially on the cloverleaf onramps."</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">Perez said in his business, when it starts to rain, it’s not just water they get swamped with.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">"We go out there, and we know that it’s going to be busy. And we just take it one call at a time," Perez said in regards to the rainy, busy days.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">The storm began on Thursday with rain throughout the valley, from Gustine to Fresno.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">Perez said, "We did have several accidents that did cause some major backups, nothing notable of any major injuries."</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">The CHP said on top of the accidents on the freeways, there was also major flooding, which caused a headache for many commuters. By the time Friday rolled around, Shaver Lake had turned into a winter wonderland, and farmers on the westside were jumping for joy over the downpour.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">Meteorologist Dave Spahr said, "We pretty much got what we expected from it, we knew we were gonna get a good dose."</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">Spahr said areas hit hardest with flooding likely didn’t have a good defense system in place. He said it didn’t help that it hadn’t rained in a long while. The storm system dropped record rain totals in Fresno, and it seems it may only be the tip of the iceberg.</font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2"> </font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><font size="2">"We have another series of storm systems coming," warned Spahr.</font></div></div>
