Clovis Chamber Helps Young Entrepreneurs Start Up Businesses

If your middle or high school student is interested in one day running their own business, a great opportunity is coming up.
Young Entrepreneurs Academy, organized by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce, is now recruiting the Class of 2016.
Jessica Chilingerian is a graduate of YEA and now has her own business, Chameleon Grips, that specializes in "funky" grips for tennis racquets. She appeared on KSEE24 Sunrise, along with Fran Blackney, to talk about her business and YEA.
This 7 month, after-school class will meet Tuesday evenings from 5 to 8 at the Clovis Community College Center starting on November 2. The Chamber will host an information meeting on Tuesday, June 9, at 6 pm at the Clovis Chamber in Old Town.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is entering its third year in the Central Valley and has helped dozens of students create their own businesses, interact with many business owners and leaders, create bank approved business plans, hone their speaking skills and earn funding from the Investor Panel. They also have learned the importance of good performance or character skills and how to interview for a job.

YEA! is open to Central Valley students in grades 7 – 12 who are passionate about running their own businesses.
Interested students should contact the Clovis Chamber of Commerce for more information and attend the informational meeting.
